Ariadne walked through the front door and over to the counter, grabbing an apple from the large crystal bowl beside her. It took her a few moments to notice the bright pink note saying ‘Ariadne darling don’t forget your meeting with Dr. Monroe.’ Dr. Monroe was one of her mom’s colleagues and her mom had been trying to get her to go talk to him since it happened. The whole event at the beginning of sophomore year had been labeled it. Her mother had thought that Nick was perfect, probably one of the few times her mother had thought she had made a right decision but it had turned out to be the worst decision in her life, so far. She was sure she would come up with something else that would be so disastrous it would make this look like nothing but at the moment it wasn’t nothing and she doubted it would be for a while.
Her mom said she needed to move on and wanted her to go seek help because she hadn’t been in a committed relationship since. Something about her being afraid. But she wasn’t, she just didn’t want to have anything to do with someone close enough to her who also had the ability to beat the crap out of her. OK so maybe she was a bit afraid and had some issues with trust, and that was why she met with the school councilor once a month so she could just talk. But her mom didn’t know and there was no way she was going to talk with one of her mom’s friends about her problems.
She needed to get out of the house to avoid the whole lecture about why she should be having someone get into her mind and tell her what is wrong so she decided to head to one of the few places that her mom wouldn’t think to look. One because her mom would never go there herself and two because until it happened Ariadne had never liked it there. Cora Monor the towns resident haunted house.
